DLA Piper's second Global Women’s Leadership Summit kicked off last night with a dinner reception attended by 200 clients and guests of the firm. Attendees enjoyed a dynamic discussion between Virginia Delegate Barbara Comstock and former Maryland Lieutenant Governor and US Deputy Assistant Attorney General Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, and moderator Thomson Reuters Digital Editor Chrystia Freeland. The three discussed the immediate ramifications of last week’s November 2012 US elections on the corporate and finance world, as well as the economic and business issues most likely to arise following the elections.

Three very distinguished panelists closed the inaugural DLA Piper Global Women's Leadership Summit: Her Excellency Claudia Fritsche, Ambassador of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the US; Her Excellency Audrey P. Marks, Ambassador of Jamaica to the US; and Her Excellency Sheila Siwela, Ambassador of Zambia to the US. The three women discussed the issues they face and the diplomatic tools they use to break through the glass ceiling.
